Hydrant Flushing

NOTICE

HYDRANT FLUSHING

Beginning on Tuesday, October 3, 2023 fire hydrants will be flushed in the service area of the Lehighton Water Authority—in Lehighton, Weissport and portions of Mahoning and Franklin Townships. Flushing will be done beginning at 8:00 A.M. and continue until around 3:00 P.M. each day until all hydrants are flushed. Hydrants will not be flushed on Monday’s.

Water may be discolored for a short time. This discoloration is not harmful. It is suggested that at this time, you set aside water at night for drinking the next day.

Hydrant flushing is part of our normal operations, in order to keep the system clean for use by our customers.
